Put an end to ‘at the end of the day’

Knowing about the origin of changes in word usage, trendy clichés and phrases as well as advertising jingles has always intrigued me. Recently my 6-year old grandson, Jack, started singing “snap, crackle and pop,” as I opened a box of Rice Krispies cereal for him. So, I looked it up.
